Rules & Guidelines
Oho, just like every other site, we have our own rules for you to follow. Be sure to read these before you begin Rping. Warnings will be issued first, but if the problem persists or you commit a serious offense, you will be banned. It will depend on your actions whether it will be temporary or permanent.
This is a PG-13 roleplay site. There is no mature board, and will be not mature-rated threads. Keep it relatively clean, guys. We'll be a bit lenient on this, but remember that most of the patrons to this forum will be young.
We'd like you to keep in mind that we run this site based on how the anime/manga ran Pokémon, as opposed to the games. You're allowed to get away with more combinations and such that were impossible in the games. You're not limited to four moves per Pokémon, but please, please, they can only learn from TM/HM, naturally, and egg moves. I don't want to see a Pikachu with Fire Punch. No surfing Pikachus, on that note.
Now, on to the important stuff.

- Proper Conduct/Respect
We expect you to behave and respect your fellow members and administrators. We understand that there will be times where you won't like someone, and you completely disagree with them. We try to run a friendly community here, so don't fuel the fire. If you really have an issue with someone, take it somewhere else, be it IMs or PMs , we don't care. The admins here will not flaunt about their power, and we are all unbiased. We understand if you're having a bad day; it happens to everyone. But don't get excessively mean, do not intentionally act like a complete ass, and do not argue. Do not be overly sexist or prejudiced. Racism will not be tolerated. So, please. Treat others the way you wish to be treated. - Swearing
Keep swearing to a minimum. This goes for in-character as well as out-of-character. Again, this site is geared towards a younger crowd. Behave. We understand that there is a time when some of these words are needed, but don't say anything that you would not say in front of your grandmother. - Grammar
We run a fairly literate site. We do not want to see any 1337speak or text speak. We expect you to use proper spelling and grammar to the best of your abilities. It makes it easier for people to read your posts, and it's more fulfilling when you produce a well-written piece. However, you will not get penalized for difficulties in spelling and such. Just make sure to keep it in check. It's less of an issue in the OOC areas. - Posts
Each post is to be a minimum of 100 words. We hope that you will not limit yourself to just these hundred words, though. There is a word counter in the posting boxes, as well as a word count in most word processors. The more text you have, the easier it is (usually) for the other player to respond to you. - Solo Threads
While this is not encouraged, it is allowed. Sometimes there are personal character plot devices that need to be carried out without the help of another RPer. Generally, we like you to RP with at least one other person. Using two or more of your own characters in a thread will count as separate people. - General RP
We would recommend that you do not take any more threads than you can handle. We do allow liquid roleplay, which means you can be in more than one thread at one time with a single character. At most, you could have three before timelines become confusing. If you can handle more, great. Remember, your character, more often than not, will be traveling on foot, with the occasional car or Pokémon travel. Your character can't just fly all over the map (Unless, of course, you have a bird Pokémon that actually allows you to fly all over the map), it takes time to get places. Soon, we'll have a map drawn to show the terrain of the Névoa Region. Be sure to explain how your character got to where s/he is if they do happen to fly across the map.
The RP section is separated out into cities and the wild area. The cities you can probably figure out, but the wild section is more loose. You can pick any town to be nearby, with its corresponding terrain, or you can just pick a certain terrain. This area is where you will find Wild Pokémon and hold most of your trainer battles. - Applications
All new applicants are to place their applications into the ”pending” folder in the Character Registration. Details on how to fill it out are on the template itself. This is a trainer-only site. You may have up to six Pokémon in your party, and can store others in your Pokémon PC. The Professor is Prof. Cedar, a woman who lives in Nogare Town. The starter Pokémon here are Oddish, Marril, and Vulpix. The “special” starter is Eevee. You do not have to start out with a 10-yr-old character with one of these starters. You can go in as a seasoned trainer, if you'd like. You can apply to be a Gym Leader or a member of Team Aether, as well, but you can't adopt a Gym Leader as your first character. WIPs are fine to post up. Do not harass the admins to look over your profile. We know it's there. Just tell us when it's done or put "Finished" in the title. We'll look at it. You may not apply for a new character until the previous character has at least fifteen posts on their account. This ensures us that you will keep active with all of your characters. Please make a new account for each new character. Don't try to hide from the admins. We will find you.
Gym Leaders
Gym Leaders have pre-picked names and Pokémon types. Why is this? It is because, while there are no players to take them, they we remain as NPCs, or, “non-player characters”. Gym Leaders are important to the characters here, so they must have names already to complete a continuum.
Team Aether
You've seen the other teams. Team Rocket, Team Aqua, Team Magma, whatever. Team Aether also has its own uniform system. They wear black boots, with dark green clothes. A lighter green patch is sewn onto the left shoulder of the jackets, with an intricate white “A” embroidered on the patch. The men wear a hat, and on the front is the same “A”. The clothes can vary some depending on the tastes of the individual, but they all generally follow those guidelines. Team Aether's goals are to kill Pokémon that they believe would upset their belief of balance. Their current targets are the legendaries: Absol, Tyranitar, Milotic, and Togekiss.
*There has been questions as to why one of the admins gets to be a Pokémon. When this site originated, there was another admin who was original. He wanted an all-trainer site, and most of how he wanted the site to be is still implemented here. He wanted me (Blitz) to join his site because I'd had admining experience, could work with coding, and liked Pokémon. However, I was obstinate, and refused to join unless I got to be a Pokémon myself. I figured, under those conditions, he'd give it up. However, to my surprise, he gave in, and allowed me to play as a Raichu. My character is in no way relevant to the plot or important to anyone who will RP. Due to an upset in his life, the site got turned over to me, and was remade here. My character remained the same, and his original intent remains intact. - Godmodding
This is a very important rule. Simple matter is, don't do it. Godmodding is when your character suffers a phenomena of never being injured, always landing hits, and always emerging victorious. We understand that sometimes, one player is just more powerful than the other, and will have a higher chance of winning. That's just how the Pokémon world works. No powerplaying. Powerplaying is where you control another player or their Pokémon without their consent. - Images
Please, keep all images you post at MOST teen-rated. Resize them so that they do not stretch the page. The widest you can go is 750px. For avatars, we prefer it if you use your character, but you are by no means limited to that. The largest size is 100x100. On signatures: Don't make them flashy. Unless the images are small, you may only have one. The widest dimensions you can use are 150x600. Why is this? It's because it takes a longer time to load, and most people don't want to scroll through images to get to the posts. In your Pokémon PC, I'd recommend pixel drawings for your team, but you're not limited to that. The largest size you can have is 350x200. We don't need the images to be huge. Most people know what your Pokémon would look like, and you would put in the description anything that's different from normal. Also, be reasonable. Shiny Pokémon are very, very rare. - Pokémon
Here on Névoa, we implement all four generations of Pokémon. You may, in your party or PC, contain almost any of those Pokémon. However, there are some things that need to be pointed out. The original legendary Pokémon are not available for capture. Our four legendaries will be damn near impossible to catch, and Team Aether are trying to kill them. Not every Pokémon will be available in the wild. Some Pokémon will not be native to the Névoa Region. A list will be created of which Pokémon are not available for normal means of capture. There will be no custom Pokémon. There are 493 (Give or take for the unavailable ones) to choose from. You don't need to invent new Pocket Monsters. - Activity Checks
Activity checks will be performed once a month. Be sure to sign them. If you don't, both your character(s) and your account(s) will be deleted.
